1990 Corrado 1.8 G60

Hi everyone!!! My 'Rado will be in the garage any day soon for a complete engine rebuilt and since this will happen i was thinging why not 'tweaking'(tuning) the engine a little bit . Most important is to mainteane the same engine but also to keep it as reliable as i can. So, if anyone has any suggestions about getting more power from the 1.8l KR i am all ears! Trying to make around 170bhp but definately without a turbo, supercharger or throttle bodies (ITB's). Cheers guys

try some sharper cams from schrick,
enlarge in and outlet ports of the valvehead,
buy a bigger inlet manifault like bbm sells.
4.2.1 exhaust manifault.
other feul presure regulator 3.5 bar.
and u could chip the computer.

aceppt for the enlarged ports its all bolt on stuff .

Hey Bozo thanks for the reply! I couldn't understand what was the last thing you wrote. Well, in the 1.8 16V KR engine there isn't a ECU so chipping in not an option. The ECU on the KR is not electronical but mechanical (injection etc).
So we have:
-Schrick cams
-enlarged inlet and outlet ports in the valvehead
-Bigger inlet manifolds
-4-2-1 exhaust manifolds (i already have this-Supersprint)
-Fuel pressure regulator (3,5 bar)

What about if i fit the 52mm (instead of the 48mm of the 'Rado) inlet manifolds from the MK2 Golf 1.8 16V?

bigger is better especially with flowed inlet and outlet ports
but bbm has the bomb inlet ang it is shorter and bigger.
u kan build the ecu from a g60 on the 16v kr engine it gives also more horse power

The inlet manifolds of the Corrado 1.8 16V KR are 44mm or something else? And what about the Golf MK2 1.8 16V KR inlet manifolds? Are they 50mm or 52mm?
