Hi guys.
I just bought me a Corrado VR6 1996 (had a G60 some time back) And I'm exited to be back in the VW Corrado world.
BUT...I have an issue I do not trust with this VR6.
When the engine heats up it will stay around 110 deg C (water) and gradually go up to 120 driving hard or city. Which I think is way to high.
My Oil temp is about 116 in city and 126 driving hard.
One of the fans is constantly running (from the moment I turn over the engine) Probably connected directly. Is this normal?
Also the secondary fan will kick in after the water temp has passed the 120 mark.
I though I might have a Head gasket issue.
But my oil is still clear and the water level is steady. Also I don't have over pressure in the water system. so that rules out my head gasket.
Could one of you help me out here to whether this is normal (which I doubt) or point me in the right direction?

Thanks in advance
Graham

I Had the same question today on the dutch corrado-forum.nl

the problem is because your c is older than 10 years, the cooling instuments are 10 years old too.

you can consider a oil cooler.
new radiator one from a airco corrado.(10 CM longer)

or check out the condision of your filters, oil, airfilter and cooling water..

Bedankt.

I'll look at the issue mentioned and see how I can improve my cooling

So I finally got a chance to change the Thermostat. And it it took care of the problem. Runs at 80-90 deg C now. Thanks for the help.
