I just want to know how the VR6 engine should sound when it is running idle. In other words. How can you determine (by the sound of it) if your having a faulty chain. I placed some youtube films of vr6 engines running idle. Are those engines running smooth? How can you tell? Perhaps someone can help me out. Greetz Johan

you can hear the chain rattling, even if it's not a loud sound then you know the chain probably needs to be replaced, i have heard it in several vr6 engines and they all needed a chain replacement.

diesel engine noise means replacement, although it hard to say from over here, but that's my experience
