Information / Adjustments : just joined - so hi from me - matt from Uk - but living in Holland Like many of you i am sure - this car is my dream car _ when they work ! I bought this g60 4 months ago - and it blew up first day. I have replaced the head top, bolts and gasket, thermostat, air filter, fuel filter water pump, timing belt, distribution, ignition timing, and loads of other stuff.... this took a while as my mechanic is a very patient and understanding guy - but he has a full time job restoring classic cars. so we finally got it started after 3 1/2 months - and it lasted a day ..... then it just would not start, made the first turn over but didnt kick in. so this week i bought a new starter motor cos the other was worn... fly wheel looked ok so left that. put in the starter and it turned over - made all the right noises - but just would not catch. Had a fiddle with the ignition and timing and now SHE BREATHES ! I will post a few photos of the project online if anyone is interested, but for now i am just going to enjoy the ride and not do too much to it - its pretty mint inside and a few scratches and dings on an otherwise great paint job. next year i will put some money in to it and finish or the restoration perfectly......... |
